Offices and public meeting room
Please note that all persons using the Archives Building for any reason must sign in at the reception desk upon arrival and sign out upon departure. This is in order to enhance the security of the unique and valuable records stored in the building.
A suite of rooms used by the State Archivist and the manager of the Publications Unit are on the second floor to the right of the lobby stairs. The suite includes an archives and records management technical library as well as a small conference room.
In the middle of the second floor landing is a hallway leading to a suite of rooms used by the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS). The office hours for this agency are Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
To the left side of the second floor landing is the entrance to a large public meeting room with a capacity of 49 people. The room is available for use Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Food is prohibited in the room but drinks are allowed. Food is only allowed in the first floor break room. Reservations for the room are on a first come-first served basis and may be made at any time within a calendar year by calling 503-373-0701. There is no charge for using the public meeting room. A projector screen and tripod are provided for use in the room.
Offices and work rooms for staff of the Archives are on the first floor and are not accessible to the public without an escort and a badge issued at the reception desk.
