Examples of other records

In addition to the legislative audio records, the Archives stores a wide range of media in the lower vault.

Some of the best examples are photographs represented in two exhibits on the Archives Web site. A 1940 Tour of the Oregon Coast and a Journey Across Oregon in 1940 both feature dozens of state Highway Department tourism promotion photographs from the 1930s. More of these photographs can be viewed as part of the cooperative project between the Archives and the Salem Public Library and Marion County Historical Society. The Archives contributed nearly 2,300 photographs from the Highway Department as well as other agencies such as the Oregon State Fair and the Oregon Agriculture Department. More historic photographs are included in several Web exhibits.

The "Image Slide Show" section of each of the state agency records guides also includes photographs that depict activities relevant to each agency.
