Oregon State Archives Hosts Archives Week Open House

The Oregon State Archives observed the inaugural Oregon Archives Week with an open house on October 15th. State Archivist Roy Turnbaugh welcomed guests and made brief remarks. Archives staff gave public tours. This is the first time Archives Week has been observed in Oregon.
A planning committee with members representing several archival institutions in the state hope this will begin a tradition, which will spread more widely throughout the state. Governor Kulongoski issued a proclamation declaring Archives Week in Oregon and noting the important role Archives play in the lives of all Oregonians.
