Oregon University System Records Retention Schedule Review

Review and Comment Information

The current Oregon University System General Records Retention Schedule, OAR 166-475 was last reviewed and updated in 1999. Over the past 18 months a team of representatives from Oregon’s public universities and Chancellors Office have prepared an update to the retention schedule has been drafted. The purpose of the current project is to ensure that all of the records the Oregon University System creates are identified, described and have an appropriate retention period assigned to them.

The “Master” draft shows all changes made to the schedule including deletions and additions.

The “Clean” draft and shows the proposed retention schedule as it will appear when finalized.

Several records series have been relocated to the section which best define their content. New record series have been added, some series have been condensed from multiple series into a single series and several series have been deleted. All additions made to the existing schedule are underlined (additions) and deletions are indicated by a strikethrough (deletions).

The Administrative Rule Hearing for these changes is scheduled for June 22 at 10:30. Comments on the proposed rule changes will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. on 6/22/2009.
