About the Records Center
The State Records Center is an off-site warehouse facility operated by the State Archives that accepts records from state agencies that are no longer needed to do day-to-day business activities.
Unlike permanent records transferred to the State Archives, the creating agency retains ownership of its records at the State Records Center and can request their return at any time.
Holdings are tracked using state of the art technology, guaranteeing customers a 24 hour turn around on file requests. When boxes of records meet their retention periods, the State Records Center will arrange for their destruction.
