Governor Robert D. Holmes' Administration

Summary of Records

The records of Governor Holmes' consist of correspondence, press releases, report files, extradition's, and proclamations. These records date from 1956 when Holmes was elected Governor and go through 1959 when he was succeeded by Governor Mark O. Hatfield.

The records of Holmes' office are predominately the incoming and outgoing administrative correspondence. Topics include the state centennial celebration, civil defense, forest product research, pardons and paroles, tax study, administrative reorganization, capitol punishment, education, hydroelectricity, and government planning and development.
