Series documents the actions of the Governor’s Office in relation to the Oregon Death with Dignity Act, earlier passed as Ballot Measure 16 of 1994. The act set the parameters for physician assisted suicide in Oregon. Subjects include efforts at repeal, court challenges, implementation issues, U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno’s related decision, the federal Pain Relief Promotion Act, and others. Records include correspondence, memoranda, reports, press clippings, legislation, notes, testimony, minutes, and related documents.
