Series visually documents planning related to the federal Northwest Forest Plan. The plan was implemented in 1994 to sustaining mature and old-growth forest related resources and resource-reliant economies in the range of the northern spotted owl. The plan involves various federal, state, and tribal agencies. The records include maps for all of Oregon. The maps vary in size, scale, base material, and other characteristics. Subjects include critical habitat, roadless areas, wilderness areas, wild rivers, special wildlife sights, and others. Some of the base maps date to the mid-1950s. Many have been modified. The maps were created by various entities.
