003	Chair Williams	Calls the meeting to order at 1:17 p.m. Opens a work session on HB 2759.
HB 2759 WORK SESSION
009	Chair Williams	Introduces HB 2759 which eliminates legislative policy and intent that judges of circuit court need adequate court services to assist courts in exercising jurisdiction over family and family-related matters. Discusses the -26 amendments (EXHIBIT A) which are the composite amendment. Says that the -27 and -28 amendments were prepared by Rep. Ackerman (EXHIBITS B-C).
021	Chair Williams	Explains the -26 amendments and the blanks that need to be filled in before sending it down to Ways and Means.
080	Rep. Krummel	Asks if the change on page 94, line 24, of the -26 amendments, is going to make the language permissive.
086	Chair Williams	Says that his understanding is that the change is consistent with Legislative Counsel’s change with using the word may. Says that it does not change the non-permissive nature of the statute.
091	Dave Heynderickx	Senior Deputy, Legislative Counsel. Answers that is correct.
095	Rep. Prozanski	States that he has concerns regarding Section 104, page 93, line 7. Thinks that it does not give the court enough discretion.
118	Chair Williams	Says that he doesn’t agree with him and explains.
