Notes that the committee will be considering the HB 2399-1 amendments (EXHIBIT A), which replace the bill.

Mike Dewey

Oregon Cable Telecommunication Association.  Thanks Rep. Close for the use of her bill for the amendments.  Explains the HB 2399-1 amendments (EXHIBIT A) are the same as HB 2444 that has passed this committee and the House floor.  It deals with the six percent tax on boxing and wrestling pay-per-view events.  Explains that an Oregon Tax Court decision found that the tax on interstate transmission was unconstitutional.  They feel it is appropriate to clear up the statute by  removing the tax.

Explains that HB 2444 got caught in the Senate and is not moving.
