HB 2594A WORK SESSION
007	Chair Williams	Introduces the A6 and A9 amendments to HB 2594A which provides that certain transfers and payments of moneys by justice and municipal courts be made not later than last day of month following month in which collected (EXHIBITS A & B). Wonders if the A8 amendments are superceded by the A9 amendments (EXHIBIT C).
013	Bill Taylor	Committee Counsel. Notes that the A8 amendments are proposed by the Oregon Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Describes the A6 amendments which are proposed by the Oregon State Bar.
036	Sen. Walker	MOTION: Moves to ADOPT HB 2594A-6 amendments dated 07/16/03.
039	Rep. Krummel	Suggests getting rid of the exceptions and making one broad statute dealing with expert witnesses.
045	Chair Williams	Confirms this will be explored during the interim.
048		VOTE: 5-0
049	Chair Williams	Hearing no objection, declares the motion CARRIED.
050	Taylor	Explains the A8 amendments. Describes the A9 amendments from the Oregon Juvenile Department Directors Association in conjunction with Deschutes County. Notes only one of these amendments (A8 or A9) can be adopted; they cannot be combined.
085	Sen. Walker	MOTION: Moves to ADOPT HB 2594A-9 amendments dated 07/28/03.
089	Sen. Walker	Speaks in support of the A9 amendments.
104		VOTE: 5-0 AYE: In a roll call vote, all members present vote Aye.

111	Rep. Ackerman	MOTION: Moves HB 2594A to the floor with the recommendation that the House CONCUR in Senate amendments dated 06/23/03 and that the bill be FURTHER AMENDED by the A6 and A9 amendments and the measure be REPASSED.
