Oregon State Representative, District 59. Testifies in support of HJR 55 A. States the purpose of the bill. Discusses different programs in jeopardy due to funding cutbacks. Explains funding sources to keep programs alive. Comments a grant request could be approved with this bill.

Asks if there was a terrorist event then would the college have any first response duties.

Responds there is no specific additional requirement conferred on training program for nurses. States proper training will be provided if needed.

Asks if there is a certificate that these people can receive for being first responder in addition to their nursing degree.

Responds there is no special recognition for that as it is designating the facility to be a trainer.
