014	Sen. Corcoran	Asks what the definition of Southwest Oregon is. Comments it is south of Roseburg.
020	Sen. Brown	Assumes no one is opposed to the bill. Asks if anyone would like to speak.

HJR 55 A – PUBLIC HEARING & WORK SESSION
060	John Mabrey	Oregon State Representative, District 59. Testifies in support of HJR 55 A. States the purpose of the bill. Discusses different programs in jeopardy due to funding cutbacks. Explains funding sources to keep programs alive. Comments a grant request could be approved with this bill.
125	Sen. Burdick	Asks if there was a terrorist event then would the college have any first response duties.
130	Rep. Mabrey	Responds there is no specific additional requirement conferred on training program for nurses. States proper training will be provided if needed.
145	Sen. Burdick	Asks if there is a certificate that these people can receive for being first responder in addition to their nursing degree.
150	Rep. Mabrey	Responds there is no special recognition for that as it is designating the facility to be a trainer.
155	Sen. Corcoran	Asks if first response includes getting general fund money for a nursing home.
160	Rep. Mabrey	Responds no.
165	Sen. Brown	MOTION: Moves HJR 55 A be sent to the floor with a BE ADOPTED recommendation.
170		VOTE: 6-0
