County Court Judicial Journals


Series records the proceedings of the county court for civil and some criminal cases. Information includes judge, plaintiff, defendant, and attorney names; trial date; memorandum of subsequent proceedings; and fees charged. Cases include citizenship petitions, legal changes to name, commitments, and writs of habeas corpus. Portions of these records may be restricted.

County Court Journal [serves as circuit court journal after 1957 and includes insane commitments-with index], vol. 3, 1920-1961 (1 volume);
Index to County Court Journal, vol. 1, n.d. (1 volume);
Journal County Court [includes naturalization until 1906 and insane commitments], vol. 2, 1902-1919 (1 volume);
Register County Court [Judicial-includes Circuit Court], 1886-1899 (1 volume).
