Morrow County Records Inventory

County Court Judicial Journals


Series records the proceedings of the county court for civil and some criminal cases. Information includes judge, plaintiff, defendant, and attorney names; trial date; memorandum of subsequent proceedings; and fees charged. Cases include citizenship petitions, legal changes to name, commitments, and writs of habeas corpus. Portions of these records may be restricted.

Records at the Morrow County Courthouse, Basement Records Storage Room:
Journal County Court [includes mostly probate and some insane commitments], vol. A, 1885-1891 (1 volume);
Journal County Court Law [includes naturalization petitions and orders and widow's pension actions], 1885-1919 (1 volume);
Law & Probate Docket [County Court-includes few entries and no probate information], vol. 1, 1892 (1 volume).

Records at the Morrow County Courthouse, Basement Vault:
Law Journal County Court [includes widow's pension actions], vol. 2, 1919-1966 (1 volume).

Records at the Umatilla County Records Storage Building, Circuit Court Front Records Storage Area:
Register and Fee Book of Cases Circuit and County Court [Morrow County-title varies], vol. 2-5, 1891-1911 (4 volumes).

Records at the Morrow County Museum, Jail Exhibit:
County Court Law Register Fee Book, 1887-1892 (1 volume).
