About the scenic images
Over 4,000 photos show scenes from every corner of Oregon. The images illustrate the geographic
and cultural context and diversity of the state's 36 counties. Currently, the counties are represented by 80 to 192 images each.
Image descriptions
Each image description includes the following: caption, dimensions, date created, camera, lens, orientation, and keywords/tags. Call 503-378-5259 for more information
about specific images.
Keyword searching
Use the search window on the left side of each Web page. Enter the desired search term such as sunset, barn, church, or lake. Click on the "image" tab in the search results page and then refine the search by clicking on "Scenic Oregon Images."
Image use
The 72 dpi JPEG images displayed in the Oregon Historical County Records
Guide may be used free of charge without permission provided that the
photo credit
shown below is given. Use of the photos implies agreement to the following terms and conditions.
1) The images are taken for use in the copyrighted Oregon Blue Book and other state publications.
2) The Oregon State Archives holds custody of the photos and sets conditions of use.
3) The photos may be used in Web sites and other personal or commercial activities.
4) Derivative works are allowed.
