Series documents the activities of the Oregon and the Oregon-Washington Forest Defense Councils. These interagency councils were created to formulate wartime forest defense policies. Minutes include members present, date and location of meeting, items discussed, and actions taken. Subjects include fire-fighter wage rates, inter-governmental cooperation, fire suppression techniques, burning regulations, and fire suppression policies.
Of special note is a February 10, 1942 resolution sent to the Fourth Army Command requesting the removal of "enemy aliens" from forested areas.
