Forest Regeneration Evaluation Committee Records
.25 cubic feet
Series documents the actions of a committee of federal, state, and timber company representatives in relation to evaluating the effectiveness of various methods of forest regeneration. This activity followed the passage of Oregon’s 1971 Forest Practices Act and similar legislation in other states. The records describe the surveys and sampling methods used by different entities to ensure reforestation of areas cleared by harvest or by natural events such as fire. Records include correspondence, reports, memoranda, and notes.
