Agency History
The history of the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife can be divided into three distinct periods:
1878-1921 - a time of organization and change;
1921-1975 - a time of stability;
1975-present - a time of reunification signified by the formation of a department responsible for both fish and wildlife;
Current organization - major divisions, programs, and responsibilities.
