South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve

Tidal flat at South Slough National Estuarine Research Reserve (SSNERR) in circa 1982. Established in 1974, the SSNERR is a partnership between the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) - Estuarine Reserves Division and the Oregon Department of State Lands. The 4700 acre natural area includes 600 acres of tidal marshes, mudflats and open water channels. (Department of State Lands Records, Publications, Biennial Report, 1980-1982, pg. 17)
