Present Duties
The Oregon Arts Commission provides leadership, funding and arts programs through grants, special initiatives and services to arts organizations, artists and communities. Commission staff helps build local ability to improve community involvement in the arts and annually undertakes specific projects serving Oregon’s cultural community. Nine commissioners, appointed by the governor, determine the needs for the state and establish policies for public support of the arts.
