Present Duties
The Board of Tax Practitioners issues license credentials, conducts a program of examination and continuing education, and conducts compliance enforcement activities. All persons who prepare, advise or assist in the preparation of personal income tax returns for a fee must be licensed. Licensed Tax Consultants must prove their competency through experience and examination. Licensed Tax Preparers are apprentice-level practitioners who must work under the supervision of Licensed Tax Consultants.
