Present Duties
The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) was created to transform the state’s system to make quality health care accessible and affordable for every Oregonian. OHA works to improve the lifelong health of Oregonians; increase the quality, reliability and availability of care for all Oregonians and lower or contain the cost of care so it is affordable to everyone. Most health-related programs in the state, including Public Health, Addictions and Mental Health, Oregon State Hospital, Medical Assistance Programs (Oregon Health Plan-Medicaid), the Public Employees’ Benefit Board and Oregon Educators Benefit Board, have been joined together under OHA.
