The Oregon Health Authority (OHA) was created in 2009 by the Legislature to transform the state’s health care system. The Oregon Health Authority is dedicated to better care, better health and lower health care costs for all Oregonians. OHA and its divisions support programs to increase healthy lifestyles and improve the lifelong health of Oregonians. OHA is overseen by the nine-member citizen Oregon Health Policy Board, appointed by the governor to work toward comprehensive health reform in our state.
OHA includes most health-related programs in the state, including the Addictions and Mental Health Division, Medical Assistance Programs, the Public Health Division, the Public Employees’ and Oregon Educators Benefit Boards, Oregon State Hospital, the Office of Equity and Inclusion, and Office of Health Policy and Research.
