PRIOR GOVERNMENTAL EXPERIENCE: State Representative; Assistant Majority Leader; House Judiciary Committee; Vice-Chair, Ways and Means Subcommittee on Public Safety; Committee on Sexual Harassment; Commission for Women.

FAMILY: Eileen and her husband Abe live in Beaverton. Together they have 5 children and 3 grandchildren.

EILEEN QUTUB has maintained her legislative priority--no new taxes! She kept her promise to reduce the burden on taxpayers by voting in favor of returning excess money to taxpayers. She supported lowering property taxes for seniors.

EILEEN QUTUB is working for efficiency in government. She helped make government work better by requiring performance audits of state agencies and Welfare reform.

EILEEN QUTUB is working for quality education. As state representative, she supported $100 million more for schools than the governor requested, and voted in favor of more local control. Eileen supports more innovation, competition and parental involvement.

EILEEN QUTUB is working for safer neighborhoods. She supported juvenile justice reform, mandatory sentences for violent criminals, minimum sentencing and requiring prison inmates to work. Because of Eileen's diligent efforts to curb crime, she was given the Special Recognition Award by Oregon Police Chiefs for Safer Communities.

Eileen Qutub helped address the special needs of children and the developmentally disabled through her House Bill 3359, which is now law because of Eileen's vigilant efforts.
