Jackie fought vigorously for increased education funding and knows that a high quality education is vital to our community.

ENVIRONMENT
Jackie is a recognized leader on environmental issues and was the chief sponsor of a bipartisan package of bills promoting energy independence and renewable fuels. She passed a law creating minimum efficiency standards for appliances to reduce energy costs and save Oregonians $253 million by the year 2020.

CONSUMER PROTECTION
Jackie pushed legislation to stop exploitive payday lending, strengthen protections against identity theft and increase protections for victims of domestic violence.

HEALTH CARE
Jackie sponsored a bill requiring health insurers to cover mental health and chemical dependency treatments like other medical care. She advocated for lower prescription drug costs for low-income seniors.
