As your Sheriff, I continue to work to improve law enforcement services. I implemented the rural crime prevention program, increased volunteer programs such as the Emergency Services Chaplains, Reserve Deputy Program, and Search and Rescue Team. Sheriff Office sub-stations have been opened throughout the County which allows deputies to spend more time in their patrol areas. I have dedicated personnel to address drugs in our community including the addition of a drug dog to the team, and I have also worked to provide drug awareness education in our community.
Your Sheriff's office continues to be recognized as a model organization. The Jail recently received a 100% compliance rating with Oregon Jail Standards, and I was honored to be named the 2007 Oregon Sheriff of the Year.
I will continue to hold offenders accountable for their criminal actions and work to insure that we a disaster prepared community.
I look forward to continuing to serve as your Sheriff.
