Women's Suffrage Centennial Celebration 2012
Celebrating Oregonian Women's Struggle for Equal Voting Rights
Dear Oregonians,
Thank you for visiting this special section of our website, dedicated to the 2012 Women's Suffrage Centennial Celebration. As we prepare for this monumental occasion, I will provide you information about Women's struggle for suffrage in the State of Oregon as well as key you in to Centennial celebration events and other opportunities to participate in the celebration.
I am so proud to be able to take part in celebrating the hard work of Oregonian suffrage pioneers like Abigail Scott Duniway, Maria Hendee, Mrs. M.A. Lambert, and Mrs. Beatty. Their example is a lesson, not just for Oregon's women, but for all Oregonians, in how perseverance, dedication and hard work can create deeply significant change.
Above, you will find access to a collection of speeches and columns written about the 2012 Centennial celebration, a links page to find other organizations working on the celebration, and a link to my Archives Division's Women's Suffrage web exhibit. In addition to this site, please head over to our blog to find more fun information about Women's Suffrage.
Thank you so much for visiting!
Sincerely,
Kate BrownOregon Secretary of State
