Funds to purchase flags are limited. Flags that are sent to Oregon military personnel are purchased with contributions from private individuals wishing to express gratitude to their fellow Oregonians for their commitment, dedication, and sacrifice. The statute authorizing the Secretary of State to dispense those funds stipulates that flag recipients be Oregon citizens who are actively serving in the armed forces. While we would like to accommodate all the flag request our office receives, we must adhere to the conditions that have been put forth.
